Tunisian exports of summer fruits were up 17%.
Tunisia saw its exports of fruit rise this summer.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, exports of summer fruits reached 32,500 tons to the period 15 August 2012, an increase of 17% compared to last year when exports reached 27,600 tons for the same date.
Watermelons are 54% of total exports of summer fruits
, followed by stone fruits (peaches, nectarines, apricots, plums ...), which represents 28%.
The Libyan market is the largest market with nearly 13,000 tons. Italy, France, Algeria and the Gulf countries are among the most important destinations for summer Tunisian fruit.
