FLAMINIA and FLAVIA the 2 new varieties, early and very early, adapted to the Mediterranean climate.
Their early maturity, high resistance to disease and their ability to adapt to a culture with low environmental impact arouse great interest in Spain, Morocco, Tunisia and southern Italy.
In these countries, the two varieties patented by the CIV (Consorzio Italiano Vivaisti) Research Center FLAMINIA and FLAVIA have confirmed, during pilot crops, all the performances announced. In agronomy as in commercial matters.
FLAMINIA, very sweet flavor, good balance between sweetness and acidity. Harvest time: Early. BRIX 8.7-10.6. Very good fruit holding and long shelf life.
FLAVIA, sweet flavor, with low acidity. Perception of prolonged and intense softness. Harvest period: Very early. BRIX 8.8-11.5. Good consistency and excellent service life.
New successes for CIV, which since 1984 has been developing its research on several main axes: strawberries for a temperate Mediterranean climate, for a continental climate, and varieties suitable for industrial processing.
