Indian mangoes are back in Europe

EU sanctions are lifted on Indian mangoes , allowing them back on the market.
The United Kingdom has authorized last week the first batch of Indian mangoes, Premium quality , Alphonso variety.
Indian health authorities have made it mandatory for mango exporters treatment with hot water (48 ° C) for 1 hour. The exporters argued that this process could damage the fruit, also hot steam treatment option VHP ( Vapour heat treatment) was preferred . This process is already completed for mangoes exported to Japan.
In the province of Maharashtra , the government has set up " Mangonet " traceability to find the farm of origin of each fruit. All fruits for export are saved in the Mangonet system.
