Prim'Land examines kiwi fruit environmental impact
MD | Primland
As part of the experimental national project on Environmental Labelling, Prim'Land is partnering Pomona TerreAzur in the study of the environmental impact of kiwi fruit cultivation.
The environmental labeling is part of the French government ‘Grenelle Environment’ campaign to make consumers aware of the environmental impacts of products. The environmental quality criteria guides consumers in their choices and encourages companies to improve their performance.
Environmental indicators include three criteria: climate change, water use and biodiversity. Prim'Land in partnership with Pomona TerreAzur gave the results of its environmental impact study for kiwi fruit:
Environmental performance of kiwi fruit, origin France and Italy for 100g:
- Climate change: 0082 kg of CO ² (32 seconds of city driving).
- Water: 5.1 liters (12 seconds in the shower).
- Biodiversity: 0112 m² of urban areas (the area of ??2 A4 sheets).
