Catalonia to increase pear production

The Catolonia's fruit growers association, "Qualitat", aims at becoming the leader in European production of Conference pear within two years, far ahead Belgium and The Netherlands. Catalonia should produce this year 100 000 tons of Conference pears out of 150 000 tons forecasted for the whole country, including 80 000 tons that will be exported at the end of August.
