First balance sheet of citrus fruits exports

Very satisfactory first balance sheet for South Africa citrus fruits' exports which increase their sales of 20 % United States.

Citrus fruits season in South Africa is going to come to an end and exports towards the United States are in increase.

Marketing of citrus fruits towards the United States enter in the last month. In mid-September, more than 80 % of all the planned expeditions arrived to the United States.

The season took place according to the established plans and should reach a total of 40.352 tons of clementines, oranges and of grapefruits sent.

" The volume reaches this season represent a 20 % increase compared to 2009 " indicated Gerrit van der Merwe, president of the Western Cap Citrus Producers ' Forum ( WCCPF).
