China is seriously growing as fresh vegetable exporter

Traditionally Spain, the Netherlands, Mexico and the United States have been the world's major exporters of fresh vegetables. However, in the period 2000-2004 China and, to a lesser extent, India have made their presence felt in global trade arena, with China now having surpassed the United States. Although vegetables are traded all over the world, the majority of vegetable trade takes place between neighbouring countries. Spain and the Netherlands can be considered Europe's key vegetable suppliers, whereas Mexico is major supplier to the United States and China mainly supplies the Asian region
