The goal is for exporters from both countries to join forces in order to create a continuous export chain between the two seasons and provide year-round cherries and premium grapes.
Although Chile is not the world's largest producer of cherries and grapes, it is the international market leader as an exporter. This country could therefore play a role model for Turkey. This is why Turkish exporters go to Chile to examine the production, packaging, transport and logistics chains in the regions of Santiago and Curico.
The two countries are not direct competitors since they are not on the market at the same time, being off-season. Turkey, having made considerable promotional efforts in Asian markets, believes that cooperation is possible with Chile to ensure these countries produce year-round. Many official meetings will be held in Santiago at the production and export level.
