In 2020 world garlic exports reached an estimated amount of 3.14 billion USD. By area of origin, Asian countries sold 67.7% and European countries 22.1%, i.e. a total of 89.8% of all the garlic exported in the world.
According to data from World Top Exports, global garlic exports in 2020 reached an estimated total of USD 3.14 billion. That is an increase of +10.9% compared to the previous year.
By region of origin, Asian countries sold 67.7% of world exports in 2020, with an estimated turnover of 2.1 billion USD. The share of European countries is estimated at 22.1% of world exports and that of Latin America at 7.5%. The share of North American countries is estimated at 1.34%, the share of African countries at 1.33%, the share of Oceania countries at 0.02%.
According to this ranking, the 5 most important exporting countries together represent 90.8% of sales made in 2020 on the international market:
.China: 2.1 billion USD (65.7% of total world exports)
.Spain: 477.9 million USD (15.2%)
.Argentina: USD 174.3 million (5.5%)
.Netherlands: 97.4 million USD (3.1%)
.Italy: 39.9 million USD (1.3%).
