Monday 23 April 2007
Barrier tariffs for apples imported to Ukraine made decline of wholesale prices of these fruit in Poland. In the beginning of April in Ukraine was introduced barrier tariff for apples imported from Poland. Custom duty of 0,5 EUR for each kilogram of apples aims at limit of export from Poland. Introduction of this tariff effected in lowering of wholesale prices in Poland. The variety of Idared - which is most often sent to Ukraine - is particularly affected by this Ukraine customs regulation. Still in the beginning of April the farmers were able to send Idared apples at 0,34 EUR/kg and in the second decade of this month wholesale price lowered even to 0,21EUR/kg. Experts say that it takes some time to overcome these problems and find other target markets.
