Small producers of Piura exported over 17.000 tons of lime in 2021

Lime exports by small producers of Piura exceeded 17,000 tons this year, according to the National Agrarian Health Service (Senasa).
According to the official record, the export volume for the current season is more than 4,000 tons higher than the volume achieved in the previous season (12,361 tons).
The main destinations for these supplies in 2021 were Chile, with a 70% share of shipments, followed by Panama, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, the United States, the Dominican Republic and other countries such as Argentina, which recently gave the green light to the Peruvian citrus.
The main varieties of lime exported are Sutil and Tahiti, which are grown on more than 18,000 hectares, according to data from the Regional Directorate of Agriculture of Piura.
