Higher Fruit and Vegetable turnover in Holland

In 2006 the fruit & vegetable turnover has grown 12% in Holland reaching 2,46 billions euro.
The country watchdog, Productschap Tuinbouw (PT), defined it as a result of a rise in the average prices. All groups of products have shown a growth except from the champignons where turnover was 4% decreased.
Greenhouses vegetable brought 1,33 billions euro overtaking last year turnover of around 9%.
Farmland vegetable and fruit reached 12% growth compared to 2006 /vegetable brought 430 mln euro and fruit 375 mln euro/.
According to the analysis by PT the dutch producers won their profit because of a very unstable weather in Europe, what has got a significant impact on demand for their products.
