Demand in some countries varied greatly (+168% or -44%) between the 1st semester of 2012 and 2013.
Ecuador registered fluctuations in demand of bananas.
According to ECB data (Banco Central del Ecuador) banana exports during the first half of 2013 have experienced changes compared to 2012.
Banana exports to Turkey record +168% in value. Which places Turkey in the third position of the Ecuadorian banana market, in 2012 the country occupied only the seventh position. Similarly, United Kingdom rose from 11th to 9th position, Algeria from 12th to 10th, the Netherlands from 10th to 8th.
In contrast, exports to Italy recorded -44.2%. Reduction of exports also for Belgium, Ukraine, Serbia and Montenegro.
