Partnership between Chiquita Brands International and Bahrain Fresh Fruits Company

Chiquita Brands International and Bahrain Fresh Fruits Company (BFFC) have signed a partnership agreement.

BFFC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Trafco, will serve as the distributor of Chiquita Bananas and other branded fruit in Bahrain.

“Expanding our geographic presence in the Middle East is part of our strategy to leverage and expand Chiquita's brand,” said Chiquita chairman and chief executive officer Fernando Aguirre.

Trafco group General Manager said the presence of Chiquita's premium branded bananas and other fruits would be welcomed in Bahrain because of its reputation for freshness and quality.

BFFC General Manager said that as of last week, Chiquita fruit was available in Bahrain and consumer demand had already been very positive.

Last week also marked the launch of a comprehensive marketing campaign to inform consumers that Chiquita had entered the market, he added.
