Casino strengthens its position in South America

Casino strengthens its Colombian subsidiary Exito.

 
Casino gives to Exito, that he controls for 54.8%, new ways to grow. Casino said it had sold its interests in its two subsidiaries in Uruguay, Disco and Devoto, to its Colombian subsidiary Exito for 520 million Euros.

 
The objective is to create an Hispanic pole around Exito to accelerate expansion into other Latin American countries. Casino controls 40% of the distribution in Colombia while Carrefour controls only 18%.
