Research has begun on a new method for extending the life of fruits and facilitate exports.
Representing a major challenge for export, a new process is being studied.
The Faculty of Technology in Santiago launched a new study program. Project using the nanoparticles, this new solutions under consideration is an edible coating to control the metabolism of fruit. A thin film with a certain permeability to allow the passage of certain gases and regulating the cyle of fruit respiration.
Challenge for research, this new solution to extend the life of the product would be a major advantage and a major contribution to the country's exports.
