Warm weather doesn't pose a threat to this year fruits crop in Ukraine
Extremely high January 2014 temperature has caused blooming of some decorative trees in the southern part of Ukraine. Such kind of unexpectedly warm weather has not affected fruit trees yet. This allows local fruit producers to expect rich crop of fruits this year. The main threat for future apricots and peaches could pose sudden change of temperature from high to low and vice versa. The raise of temperature could cause premature trees wakening. In case it is followed by the fall of temperature to sub-zero degrees, local farmers are not likely to gather good crop of fruits this year. Moreover Ukrainian farmers are afraid of hard rains which could cause trees icing in case of sudden frosts.
