Disaster for the Turkish citrus growers .

In Izmir , the two coldest nights for 50 years made ??mandarins remained on irretrievable trees for sale. 

Despite warnings from the Meteorological National Directorate , it was not always possible to protect the citrus in the region of Adana, Mersin and Hatay to where the majority of lemons and grapefruits are produced. Now expected warming would worsen the quality.

Because of the problems in the Middle East and the devaluation of the ruble in Russia, the producers did not even sell half of their fruits and now we can say that the rest of the citrus season is seriously compromised.

However, producers with warehouses, which have managed to pick up their harvest on time, or those with sophisticated ways to save freezing their plantations have saved the day.
