For the time frame from January 1, 2022 to December 21, 2022, the data show remarkable increases in volume and value for Tunisian fruit exports.
According to Tunisian media, the Groupement Interprofessionnel des Fruits announced that over the period from January 1 to December 21, 2022, the value of exports reached 176.25 million TND (56.4 million USD). That is approximately +32% compared to the 133.81 million TND (42.8 million USD) recorded during the same period in 2021.
In terms of volumes, these exports reached 68,443 tonnes. That is +41% compared to the 48,550 tonnes exported during the same period in 2021.
Regarding the destinations of these exports: Libya is well ahead of the ranking with 57,990 tons (39,827 tons in 2021), followed by Italy with just over 6,000 tons, then France with 1,077 tonnes and the United Arab Emirates with 833 tonnes.
As far as products are concerned, watermelons top the ranking with 19,329 tons followed by peaches with 12,100 tons.
