PotatoEurope 2018: preparations for the event are progressing well

The potato planting is now over on the demonstration plots for PotatoEurope 2018.
Preparations for PotatoEurope 2018 are well underway and planting is now complete at the event site near Springe-Mittelrode in Lower Saxony (Germany). The site will host this large gathering of European potato professionals on the 12th and 13th September 2018.
Ideal weather conditions and well-prepared soil allowed potatoes to be planted with the latest technology by the end of April. The event will focus on experimental plots, with demonstrations of machines but also on all technologies for the production and processing of potatoes.
With particular focus on "Optoelectronics" with live demonstrations of optoelectronic technology for sorting unwashed potatoes. Manufacturers will discover their equipment that can detect and remove foreign bodies from the crop and allow sorting by size as well as other defined quality parameters.
The organizer, DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft), revealed that 120 exhibitors from the fields of cultivation, fertilizers, and technology for the production and processing of potatoes, have already registered to participate in the event .
