CORPOHASS, the new National Committee, includes 60 producers and exporters of Hass avocados

Growers and exporters of Hass avocados have formed a national committee.

The new organization, CORPOHASS of Colombia, will represent the interests of the sector on international markets and in the country. The main objective is to become the sole interlocutor in export markets and in the United States, in particular.

CORPOHASS brings together 60 producers and exporters, and the members of the Board are: Diego Aristizábal (Quindío); Juan Camilo Ruiz (Antioquia); Diego Duque (Frutales Las Lajas); Rodrigo Garavito (Tolima); Jean Pierre Coulet (Caldas); Fernando Bernal; Christian Gartner (Cundinamarca); Pedro Pablo Díaz (Antioquia); Faustina Rodallega (Cauca); Hector Fabio Moncada (Risaralda) and Andrea Idarraga (Quindío).

Colombia is the 5th largest producer of avocados, with 215,322 tons produced in 2011.
