Spanish exports of fruits and vegetables grew by 20% to European countries outside the EU and 27% to countries outside Europe.
Solid sales increases in Spanish exports of fruits and vegetables have been registered to countries outside the European Union.
FEPEX announced that Spanish exports of fruits and vegetables to countries outside the EU grew by 23% in 2011. Exports outside the EU totaled 814.896 tons.
Spanish exports to European countries outside the EU amounted to 538.415 tonnes in 2011, An increase of 20% compared to 2010
. Russia was the main destination with 243.025 tons (47%) followed by Switzerland and Norway (6%).
For non-European countries, Spanish exports rose 27% to 276.481 tons. The volumes are still low, but for FEPEX, this growth reflects a real potential.
