The demand from importing countries is constantly increasing. Mango sales continue to grow, making it one of the most widely traded tropical fruits in the world, after bananas, pineapples and avocados. 2019 is considered a positive year for Mexican mango exports.
In the opinion of Francisco Villegas, President of EMEX (Asociación de Productores - Exportadores de Mangos de México), 2019 was a successful year, with the opening of new markets in particular. For this year, the association plans to consolidate the presence of Mexican mangoes on the markets of the EU, Asia and the Middle East. The quality brand 'Mango EMEX' will be developed and strengthened.
The association will be present at the next Fruit Logistica fair and will showcase the excellence of Mexican mangoes.
Mexican mangoes are exported to 28 countries. The main destinations are the United States, Japan, Chile, Argentina, New Zealand, Ecuador, Australia and the European Union.
