Dutch exports to many European destinations, including Germany and France are lower than last year

As a consequence of the E. Coli crisis, Dutch exports declined.

Exports of fruits and vegetables, excluding onions and products used in industry, were down 8% in the first half of 2011, compared to the previous year. In the first half of 2011, exports amounted to 995 million kg against 1,082 million kg in 2010.

Exports in June 2011 were 18% lower than in 2010, partly due to the EHEC crisis.

A comparison of the first quarter of 2011 and 2010 show:

• a 10% decrease in exports to Germany,
• a decrease of 13% to the UK
• a decrease of 24% to Russia
• a decrease of 21% to France,
• an increase of 34% to Poland, Italy 7%, and 8% to Denmark.
