Biological products: Turkish-German cooperation

Organized by the Union of Exporters of Fruits and Vegetables of Uludag, the Organic Farming Association and the German Ministry of Agriculture, this panel was to take stock of the situation of organic agriculture in Turkey, its potential and the possibilities of working together with Germany, which is one of the most important European market for Turkish fruits and vegetables, with a population of Turkish immigrants by about 3 million people with an annual export of some $ 37 billion.
Attention was attracted in particular on residues of pesticides reported in many products exported to Europe and the negative impact on export products of primary importance as fig, cherry and pear. Turkish producers are well aware of the opportunities provided by the biological market and are willing to make the effort to take their share of this market.
