New elected to the WUWM Board

This 35th WUWM Conference was held in Belgrade (Serbia).

The recent World Union of Wholesale Markets (WUWM) conference in Belgrade, Serbia, brought together over 150 food market professionals from 27 countries around the world. The election of 6 director positions on the WUWM Board of Directors took place during the event.

This 35th WUWM Conference was organized by the municipal markets of Belgrade and had for theme: "Disturbances and challenges of the supply chain of the fresh products market". With discussions on topics such as: the effects of current agricultural policies on modern food markets; modernization and renovation of wholesale and retail markets; potential impact of disruptive technologies on food market strategies.

During the event, an election was held for 6 director positions on the WUWM Board of Directors. The elect are:

- Ms Maria González, Mercasa, Madrid, Spain

- Mr Michal Kostelecki, Silesia Wholesale Flower Market,Tychy, Poland

- Mr Arturo Salvador Fernández Martínez, Centro de Abasto de Ecatepec, Mexico City, Mexico

- Mr Fabio Massimo Pallottini, ITALMERCATI, Rome, Italy

- Mr Ioannis (John) Triantafyllis, CMO, Athens, Greece

- Dr Jagvir Singh Yadav, COSAMB, New Delhi, India.

These newly elected members, with terms until May 2021, now join the other members of WUWM's Board of Directors mandated until April 2020.
