The air cargo demand weakens

IATA, the International Air Transport Association released its data for the global markets concerning air cargo.

For the month of July the air freight volumes measured in freight kilometers ( FTK / Freight Tonne Kilometers ) fell by 0.6 % compared to the same period last year.

According to IATA , the decline is observed in all regions except Africa and the Middle East. The largest decreases were recorded in the Americas, where volumes fell by more than 5 % from July 2014 .

The Association believes that this decline reflects the state of global economic growth . Slowdowns (China, emerging markets) should still weigh on world trade and air cargo in the coming months.
