Pakistan predicts a higher turnover for its exports of mangoes.
PFVE, the Association of Pakistani exporters, announced will to make this year $ 65 million (€ 47.5 million) in turnover for export of mangoes. Last year the amount realized had totaled $ 60 million (43.8 million euros).
The association plans to maintain and increase the quality rather than the quantity. To avoid problems similar to Indian mangoes denied entry by the EU. Especially as the expected production will only reach 1.42 million tons instead of the 1.8 million tons hoped.
The start of exports will be from May 25. Pakistan exports about 24,000 tons of mangoes to the EU every year and plans to increase its shipments to high-value markets (South Korea, Australia).
