New restrictions for import to Russia of products from two new countries.
Rosselkhoznadzor, the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision has decided to ban the country's entry to Afghanistan cherries and peaches / nectarines from Somalia.
For alleged irregularities. Historically these two countries did not provide these fruits and Rosselkhoznadzor is suspicious of illegal re-exports from third countries.
Since the ban on Western goods in August 2014 Rosselkhoznadzor has repeatedly punished for illegal re-exports. Belarus and Kazakhstan were the most common sources for this trade. Recently the Russian Service had extended its warnings to some West African countries.
