Demand for import apples skid down in Ukraine
Based on the latest information, recent increase of customs duties for apples imported to Ukraine has triggered dramatic price growth and drop of demand for apples among local consumers. Consequently April sales volumes of imported apples are 2 times lower comparing to the previous year figures. It stands to mention that in December – March period there were no customs duties for fruits importing to Ukraine, while starting from April customs duty has been increased up to 10%. At the current moment prices for Polish apples comprise 0,66 – 0,70 EORO/kg (15-20% higher comparing to the last year numbers).
