FEPEX reports that the consumption of fruits and vegetables in Spanish households has increased by 7% in April 2013 compared to April 2012. The total volume reaches 743,048 million kg. That of potatoes has increased by 5%.
According to figures from the Ministry of Agriculture, the consumption of fruits and vegetables has led to higher expenses by 13.6% compared to April 2012. Total expenditures reached 1.041 million euros, with an increase of 39% for potatoes, 9% for fruits and 14% vegetables.
