Intermarché ends 2008 with 6.4% sales hike

Intermarché (ITM) the French retailer group has reported turnover has increased by 6.4% in 2008, to €34.8bn.
The domestic market accounted for €31.2bn, up 6.0% on 2007, while turnover for the rest of Europe was up 9.5% to €3.6bn.
Group President Michel Pattou said that, unlike hypermarket operators, ITM had not suffered from poor non-food sales.
As part of a company face lift they also released a new logo, above, which will be implemented in stores this year.
Intermarché has a turnover of 27,854m Euro in 8 counties with 4 different formats. The group has a total of 4,080 stores with a total sales area of 5,243,797 sqm.
