Agricultural specialists forecast apples yield decrease in Poland this year
Long winter and hard rains in spring 2013 will cause apples yield decrease in Poland this year. This statement was issued both by Polish and European specialists this week.
According to the official data last season has been highly successful for local apples producers. Apples yield has appeared to be the biggest one during last 5 years. This factor and poor fruit harvest in France and Netherlands allowed Polish producers to export apples to fruit markets of other countries at quite high prices.
But this year figures are not expected to be nearly that remarkable. The season will start in September with Gloster, Ligol, Jonagold kinds of apples and is predicted to be below-average one.
