Price of local apple decreases

Local apples lose points within fruit market of Russia comparing to imported ones from Poland

Due to data provided by local apples producers in Russia, surplus supply of imported products prevents price grow for local apples. Today prices for apples produced by Russian farm enterprises are the following: 0.56 – 0,67 EURO / kg. While apples imported from Poland are sold for 0,60 – 0, 65 EURO / kg.

Plain look and lower quality (result of not proper storage conditions) of local apples are considered to be the main reasons for price decrease within Russian fruit market. At the same time apples imported from Poland are not large but are always of good quality. Actually these factors all together have triggered growth of demand for polish apples.
