Apple growers open their orchards to the general public
Each year, ANPP (Association Nationale Pommes Poires) organizes the "Open Orchards" operation for a weekend.
For a weekend, as part of the “Vergers Ouverts” operation, producers welcome the general public to discover their profession, their passion and to explain their production ethics through the 'Eco-responsible orchards' approach. '.
The 'Eco-responsible orchards' approach marks the commitment of apple growers to production methods that respect the environment and biodiversity in orchards, to offer quality French apple, healthy and rich in taste. The 1,300 certified apple growers 'Eco-responsible Orchards' are committed to
- promote biodiversity in orchards,
- to favor biological control methods,
- reason for interventions in orchards,
- harvest the apples by hand at optimum maturity,
- guarantee the traceability of the orchard to the point of sale,
- have compliance with these good practices checked by an external and independent body.
For this 10th edition of Open Orchards, certified apple growers 'Eco-friendly Orchards' are meeting all over France:
September 12 & 13, 2020
September 26 & 27, 2020
October 3 & 4, 2020.
