The digital campaign 'Follow me to be Healthy with Europe' comes to an end after 3 successful years. The objective of this campaign was to encourage young Europeans to increase their consumption of fruits and vegetables to a minimum of 400g per day.
Launched 3 years ago, the campaign was coordinated by Freshfel Europe and Aprifel, and co-financed by the European Commission. With the hashtag # 400gChallenge, the objective of this campaign was to encourage young Europeans to increase their consumption of Fruits & Vegetables to a minimum of 400g per day, according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO).
Since its launch, the campaign has generated over 64 million social media impressions and racked up +1.6 million video views. The 30 videos, infographics and collaborations with more than 20 influencers based in 6 European countries, have encouraged young Europeans to integrate fruits and vegetables more easily into their daily diet.
"Obstacles such as lack of interest in nutrition and health, little knowledge of nutrition and the fear that a healthy diet is too expensive, often mean that young people do not include enough Fruits & Vegetables in their diet. We are therefore very proud of the work accomplished with this campaign to publicize the simple steps that can lead to a healthier lifestyle "said Philippe Binard, Managing Director of Freshfel Europe.
The success of this campaign during the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables brings additional satisfaction according to Mathilde Fléchard, European Project Manager at Aprifel, who added: "We hope to continue to educate and inspire the younger generations to make choices. healthier as they enter adulthood. Social networks are once again proving to be excellent tools to connect with this generation. "
