France
Thursday 13 November 2008
The Italian retail trade association Fida Confcommercio and the French UNFD (Union Nationale des syndicats de détaillants en fruits, légumes et primeurs) will sign a memorandum of understanding on November 17 during the event Equip’Hotel, in the presence of both associations’ directors.
Further to the European Union’s recall to the importance of a trade network of proximity in order to protect the food heritage, this is the first experience of “beyond borders cooperation” between two federations representing together over 100,000 private trading businesses.
The purpose of both associations is a mutual enrichment in terms of experience in the field as well as in terms of knowledge of products and services as to contribute to the improvement of the global offer to consumers.
The presidents of both associations made the common commitment to serve as catalysts also for the other European Countries willing to rebuild or reinforce neighbourhood initiatives, offering quality, courtesy and shopping convenience to consumers.
