2022 summer fruit production is estimated at normal volume and approaching 2020 volume, but exports show a variation of -15.1% compared to 2020, according to comments from Giorgos Polychronakis, Incofruit adviser Hellas.
According to Giorgos Polychronakis, this decline can be explained by the lack of agricultural workers but also by under-consumption in the main markets. Thus Germany, according to SBA (Statistisches Bundesambt), in the 1st half of 2022 recorded a variation of -12% in volume for its fruit and vegetable imports.
