Chile was the No. 1 supplier of fresh fruit in China in 2018, in terms of value.
For the second year in a row, Chile is the main supplier of fresh fruit in the Chinese market, in terms of value.
ASOEX announced that according to the information published by the Chinese Customs, Chile was in 2018 the main supplier of fresh fruit in terms of value. In 2018 total imports of fresh fruit in China amounted to USD 6,944,519,019 while imports from Chile were USD 1,682,382,182.
During the 2017/18 season, Chile exported a total of 385,516 tonnes of fresh fruit to China, an increase of 66.46% from 2016/17. Cherries were the main exports, with a share of 41.4% of total Chilean fruit shipments, followed by table grapes (30.8% of total), plums (10.7%), nectarines (4.3%), kiwis (4.2%), avocados (3.2%), apples (2.9%) and blueberries (2.5%).
According to Chinese customs, after Chile comes Thailand (USD 1,661,643,451), the Philippines (USD 731,458,726), Vietnam (USD 719,352,519) New Zealand (USD 441,968,952), Australia ($ 329,877,390), the United States ($ 269,308,923), South Africa ($ 232,193,540), Peru ($ 225,011,980) and Ecuador ($ 149,792,872) ).
