Chilean horticultural exports exceed $492 million to November 2022

Between January and November 2022, Chile exported vegetables for $492.3 million dollars, which is 11.4% higher than what was achieved in the same period of 2021, according to the latest bulletin from the Office of Agrarian Studies and Policies ( Odepa). (photo: tuberculos.org)
The main destinations for Chilean vegetables in 2022 were the United States, Japan, the Netherlands, Mexico, Brazil and Venezuela.
9.8% of the total value corresponds to shipments of fresh vegetables, garlic being the main species (50.3% of the total), followed by onion (42.3%), while frozen vegetables made up 8, 6% of the value, among which stands out the asparagus (70%).
Vegetables exported in the form of pasta and sauces constituted 40.1% of the total value.
Seed shipments made up 32.3%.
The main destinations for Chilean vegetables in the period analyzed were the United States (20.2% of the total value), Japan (12.5%), the Netherlands (9.5%), Mexico (8.8%), Brazil ( 7.8%) and Venezuela (4.1%).
