The effects of drought and hailstorms are questioning the garlic and onion crop in the Castilla-La Mancha region (Spain).
Iván Torres, vice president of the Albacete Chamber of Commerce, explained that the estimates of a 7.5% increase in exports of local companies, according to data provided by the Territorial Directorate of Commerce (ICEX), are not so optimistic due to unusual weather conditions that have been present in the region earlier in June.
Specifically, the garlic and onion crop will face difficulties in reaching that level of growth.
Worth to mention that initial ICEX forecasts estimated that the autonomous community's export activity will reach around 11,040 million euros.
