A shortage, fortunately temporary , of vegetables will affect Fiji.
Heavy rains and floods have caused damage in the vegetable producing areas. The continuous rains have delayed preparations land and plantations. Vegetable production has decreased considerably.
The country may know almost total lack of local vegetables for 2 ½ months.
During this period the country will be forced to increase imports from Australia and New Zealand. The return to a normal situation should take 3 to 4 months.
