Biocoop continues its expansion with an increase of +8.2% in 2013

The first cooperative network of food stores announced an increase of +8.2% of its business turnover in 2013, after an increase of +7% in 2012.
The turnover in 2013 sales reached 580 million euros, the stores are 345 now, after 25 additional openings. In 2014, the network plans 22 new stores.
The 2013 year was also marked by the definition of the new supply chain strategy of Biocoop and the establishment of the Logistics Manager Scheme 2016. This plan will include: expand and modernize the entire logistics platforms of Biocoop, optimize the inventory, minimize transportation costs, reduce carbon impacts, to have a long term effective and efficient logistics tools.
It is in this context what has been started at the end of 2013, the expansion works of the West Grand logistics platform based in Melesse (35) for an investment of € 4.9 million.
