Eroski would be about to sell its 7 hypermarkets of Madrid to the french Leclerc.
Eroski would be about to sell its network of hypermarkets of Madrid to the french group Leclerc, according to several Spanish media.
Eroski would reduce its presence in the Spanish capital with the sale of its 7 hypermarkets Carabanchel Pinto, Alcobendas, Vallecas Majadahonda, Fuenlabrada and Valdemoro.
In 2007, Eroski had bought the supermarket chain Caprabo for over 1.1 billion euros in order to gain ground on the Spanish market against other group but is forced to sell its network to Madrid to face its debt.
The Leclerc group has 9 stores in the Spanish market, but only 1 in Madrid.
