The European Union has decided to renew economic sanctions against Russia for the next six months, which responded with a renewal of one year of its embargo on food products.
Last week the Heads of State and Government of the European Union decided to renew for six months the economic sanctions against Russia.
A few days after this decision, Russia decided to extend for one year, until December 31, 2020, the ban on imports of food products from countries that imposed economic sanctions. Including the United States, the European Union, Canada, Australia, Norway, Iceland, Albania, Montenegro, Liechtenstein and Ukraine.
According to a comment by President Putin, if the Western economic sanctions deprived the Russian economy of $50 billion, the embargo has lost the EU about $240 billion.
