Kiwi : fewer exports expected

In 2012 exports of kiwifruit in the southern hemisphere will fall 7% on average. New Zealand's exports will decline by 14% while Chilean exports will increase by 7%.
2012 should see a sharp decline in shipments of kiwifruit in the southern hemisphere.
IQonsulting, a Chilean firm specializing in market analysis, has just announced its first estimate of exports of kiwifruit. According to this data, exports of kiwifruit in the Southern Hemisphere will decrease by 7% in 2012 totaling 501,160 tons.
New Zealand would see its exports fall by 14%. The gold variety, which is they most affected by the disease, will see exports reduced by 45%, with the the green varieties down by 5%.
Chile is the only country to see exports increasing: up 7% to 193,180 tons.
