The next FRUIT LOGISTICA will be publishing Egypt as official partner country. Egypt has already announced a record participation of its most important national operators.
Egypt, for ten years, has significantly increased its exports of agricultural products (+ 226%). For the 2014/15 season the country exported 743,000 tonnes to the European Union (United Kingdom, Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, Greece, Germany, Romania, Lithuania, Spain and France) or 21% of its agricultural exports. Then come: Saudi Arabia (18%), Russia (18%, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and India.
Export diversity, with the 2014/15 season: No. 1 oranges with 1.22 million tons, No. 2 potatoes with 650,000 tons, No. 3 onions with 492,000 tons. Then, dried beans 182,000 tons, grapes 111,000 tons, tomatoes 109,000 tons, pomegranates 55,000 tons, green beans 44 000 tonnes, mandarins 36,000 tons, strawberries 34,000 tons, lemons 33 000 tons and 26 000 tons of peanuts.
