Ukraine has imported record amount of tomatoes in April 2013

According to the official statistics Ukraine has imported around 18 tons of tomatoes in April 2013. The provided figures 2 times exceed previous year’s numbers and are considered to be the record ones within 10 years period. The total amount of tomatoes delivered to Ukrainian vegetables market during last 10 months comprise around 40 tons. Comparing to the last season numbers the difference is almost 45%. Moreover this is the biggest volume of tomatoes imported to Ukraine since 1991. The main exporters of tomatoes to Ukraine are Turkey, Poland and Spain.
