Thursday 06 September 2007
During the first six months 2007 sales of fresh fruit and vegetables in Dutch supermarkets have increased by 2% compared to the same period last year, according to data released by GFK.
Total sales volumes amounted 620.000 tons; it is worth highlighting the relevant growth of tomato sales.
This is the second year in which fruit and vegetables sales register a growth, following to an improvement by 3% in 2006. For 20 years a constant drop had been recorded; therefore, this reversal trend evidences a better consciousness of the Dutch of the need to eat healthy
