New productive and easy-to-harvest varieties according to the scientists who developed them.
INIA (Instituto de Investigaciones Agropecuarias) already has a long history of research in the genetic improvement of table grapes. Years of work have made possible these new varieties of table grapes which contribute to the development of the national fruit sector.
The 9th International Table Grape Symposium is held at Casa Piedra from February 16 to 21. The event is organized by INIA, UVANOVA (Comisión de Investigación para el Desarrollo de la Uva de Mesa) and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. It brings together producers, researchers, consultants and professionals who analyze the technical, scientific and economic advances in the sector.
INIA will present the new varieties, recently announced, INIA-G2 and INIA-G3. INIA-G2, mid-season fruit, red grapes, without seeds, very firm grains, easy handling of the bunches and good conservation for distant markets. INIA-G3, late harvest grape, with conical bunches, seedless, firm texture and a muscat flavor.
